Welcome from the Chair - Sarah Buxcey
Hello, I’m Sarah, and it is a pleasure to welcome you to our school community. I live here in Coventry and, alongside my role as Chair of Governors, I work as the Deputy Director of Operations at the Building Safety Regulator. Before that, I spent six years as Head of Teacher Misconduct at the Teaching Regulation Agency, regulating the teaching profession in England. I have been Chair of Governors since September 2020, and it continues to be one of the most rewarding roles I have ever taken on. From the early days in my role as chair amidst the challenges of the COVID pandemic, working closely with Ms Turner and her team, we built a strong partnership to ensure children were safe and quality of education continued. We built on that as the governing body grew and evolved, to develop a stakeholder engagement plan for Clifford Bridge.
Our governing body is a dedicated team of volunteers, from many different professions and backgrounds who work closely with school leaders to support, challenge, and champion the school’s vision. We focus on ensuring that every pupil has the opportunity to thrive, and that the school continues to grow from strength to strength.
What makes this role so fulfilling is the people at the heart of the school. The staff bring energy, expertise, and genuine care to everything they do, and our pupils never fail to impress with their enthusiasm, curiosity, and kindness. It’s a privilege to play a part in supporting such a vibrant and ambitious community.
